KwaZulu-Natal Police Department Spokesperson Robert Netshiunda stated in a press release that the incident occurred in the village of Lulwane, part of the eManguzi area, early yesterday morning, where three siblings lost their lives during a machete attack while their mother was at work.

1 PERSON ARRESTED

Netshiunda expressed that a 35-year-old male suspect has been detained as part of a large-scale investigation launched regarding the incident. According to reports in the national press, the murder suspect was brought before a judge at the eManguzi Magistrate's Court and was arrested and sent to prison.

Residents of the area and representatives of civil society organizations gathered around the courthouse to protest, demanding the heaviest sentence be given to the suspect.
