US President Donald Trump reacted to French President Emmanuel Macron's statements that he "left early from the summit in Canada to work on a ceasefire between Israel and Iran."
"MACRON IS AFTER ADVERTISING"
Trump stated in a post on his Truth Social account, "The advertising-seeking French President Emmanuel Macron said I left the G7 Summit in Canada to return to Washington DC to work on a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Wrong!"
"SOMETHING MUCH BIGGER"
Trump noted that Macron had "no idea at all" why he returned to Washington DC, emphasizing that his early departure from the summit in Canada had nothing to do with a ceasefire, and that the real reason was "something much bigger."
Trump said, "Whether intentional or not, Emmanuel is always wrong."
NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL MEETING
Meanwhile, Trump instructed the National Security Council to be present in the Emergency Room at the White House.
WHAT DID MACRON SAY?
On the other hand, Macron stated in a press conference during the G7 summit that the US leader had made an offer for a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
Macron said, "There is indeed a proposal to come together and discuss. A proposal was made especially for achieving a ceasefire and then starting broader discussions."
ISRAEL-IRAN CONFLICT
On June 13, Israel carried out extensive attacks targeting the military's high command, including nuclear facilities in various Iranian cities.
While 9 nuclear scientists were killed in the attacks, including the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces and the Commander of the Revolutionary Guards along with some senior commanders, the total civilian casualties were reported as 224.
In Iran's retaliation against Israel with ballistic missiles, it was reported that 24 people were killed and more than 500 were injured.
