U.S. President Donald Trump, holding the radical left responsible for the armed attack that resulted in the death of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, stated, "The radical left has compared great Americans like Charlie to Nazis, the most horrific killers and criminals in the world for years. Such rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we are witnessing in our country today and must come to an immediate end."

U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the public with a video message following the armed attack that resulted in the death of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.

Trump expressed that he was very saddened and angered by Kirk's despicable assassination, stating, "Charlie inspired millions of people, and everyone who knew and loved him is in shock and horror tonight. Charlie was a patriot who dedicated his life to the idea of open debate and to the country he loved so much, the United States of America."

"A DARK MOMENT FOR AMERICA"

Emphasizing that Kirk fought for freedom, democracy, justice, and the American people, and that he lost his life for truth and liberty, Trump said, "Our prayers are with his wife Erica, his two beloved young children, and his family, whom he loved more than anything in the world. We pray that God protects them in these painful and sorrowful hours. This is a dark moment for America." Trump noted that Kirk traveled the country to communicate with everyone and engaged in good-natured discussions, stating, "His mission was to involve young people in the political process, and he did this better than anyone else by sharing his love for his country and spreading the simple words of common sense. He defended his ideas on campuses across the country with courage, logic, humor, and grace."

"RADICAL LEFT'S POLITICAL VIOLENCE HAS HARMED TOO MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE"

Blaming the radical left for the violence occurring in the country, Trump stated, "It is now time for all Americans and the media to face this reality: Violence and murder are the tragic results of demonizing opponents relentlessly, with hatred and in a vile manner. The radical left has compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis, the world's most horrific killers and criminals for years. Such rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we witness in our country today and must end immediately." Trump emphasized that the current U.S. administration will find and bring to justice those who support this and other recent acts of political violence, stating, "The political violence of the radical left has harmed too many innocent people and taken too many lives."

Expressing that the attacker who killed Kirk actually attacked all of America, Trump said, "An assassin tried to silence him with a bullet, but he failed; because together we will ensure that his voice, message, and legacy continue to live on for future generations."

Trump also ordered that flags in the U.S. be flown at half-staff in memory of Charlie Kirk until Sunday evening.
