A signal of easing in the trade war has come from U.S. President Donald Trump. Speaking to reporters before his meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the White House, Trump stated, "We will make a trade deal with the EU and China."

"THERE WILL BE A 100% TRADE AGREEMENT WITH THE EU"
In response to a question about the possibility of not reaching a trade agreement with the European Union (EU) after a 90-day postponement based on reciprocity, Trump said, "There will be a 100% trade agreement." Trump stated, "They really want to make a deal, and we will make a trade agreement. I expect this, but of course, it will be a fair trade agreement."
"WE WILL HAVE VERY FEW PROBLEMS IN MAKING AN AGREEMENT"
Stating that they have held numerous meetings with other countries, Trump expressed that they will make fair agreements and that they are not in a hurry. Trump said, "We will have very few problems in making an agreement with Europe or any other country."

In response to a question about whether he is concerned about Chinese President Xi Jinping visiting three of the US's allies this week, Trump said, "No. No one can compete with us, no one." Trump stated, "I think we will make a very good deal with China. I believe you will see that we will make a very good deal with China."

Italian Prime Minister Meloni also expressed confidence that an agreement could be reached regarding the reciprocity-based tariffs announced by the US. Emphasizing that the best way to grow together with the US needs to be found, Meloni said, "If I didn't believe the US was a reliable partner, I wouldn't be here today."
