In the UK, the Food Standards Agency issued a "Do not consume" warning for two popular chip brands, and the products were removed from the shelves. Experts noted that this issue is not limited to the UK, reminding that the label information of imported snack products should be carefully examined in Turkey as well.
An urgent recall warning has been issued for two different chip brands in the UK. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) announced that allergenic substances not mentioned on the label were found in Calbee Hot & Spicy Chips and Calbee Pizza Chips produced by Calbee Group UK. It was stated that Hot & Spicy Chips contain mustard, while Pizza Chips contain celery, but this information was not included on the packaging. This situation poses a serious health risk for consumers with mustard or celery allergies.
"DO NOT CONSUME UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES"
The FSA urged consumers who have purchased the affected products and are sensitive to these allergens to "definitely not consume" them. It was announced that the products can be returned to the stores where they were purchased for a full refund. Consumers were also informed that they can contact Calbee customer service.
HERE ARE THE REMOVED PRODUCTS
The recall warning covers all expiration dates of Calbee Hot & Spicy Chips in 55 g and 105 g packages until June 5, 2026, and all expiration dates of Calbee Pizza Chips in 55 g packages until April 28, 2026.
THERE IS A WARNING FOR TURKEY AS WELL
Experts noted that such recalls are not limited to the UK, reminding that the label information of imported snack products in Turkey should be carefully examined. It was emphasized that allergen warnings may be missing, especially in packaged foods brought from abroad via the internet.
