The price limits for the First Home Scheme program aimed at first-time homebuyers in Ireland have been increased. While the ceiling prices have been raised by 25,000 Euros in 17 regions, the new regulation will allow more applicants to benefit from the state-supported partnership model.

The Irish government has updated the price limits applied under the First Home Scheme, which provides support for first-time homebuyers.

STATE-SUPPORTED PARTNERSHIP MODEL

The First Home Scheme is based on a financing model jointly implemented by the government and three banks. Under the program, applicants receive support of up to 30% of the housing cost. In return for this support, the government becomes a shareholder in the purchased property in an equivalent proportion.

PRICE LIMITS INCREASED

With the latest regulation, the ceiling prices for housing in 17 counties and local government areas have been increased by 25,000 Euros. This aims to increase the number of applicants who can benefit from the program. Under the new tariff, ceiling prices will range from 375,000 Euros to 500,000 Euros based on the region.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR THE PROGRAM?

The program only provides support to citizens purchasing a home for the first time. The price of the selected property must not exceed the ceiling value set for the area. With the updated limits, some properties that were previously excluded have now been included in the program.

"MORE CITIZENS WILL BECOME HOMEOWNERS"

James Browne, Ireland's Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, stated that expanding the program's accessibility will encourage homeownership, saying: "As a government, our priority is to ensure that more citizens own their own homes. Thanks to the updated ceilings, the number of people who can benefit from the program will significantly increase."
