The villagers who came together in the forested area where the concrete plant is proposed expressed their desire for their land and air not to be polluted.
"YOU HAVE BURIED BURSA IN CONCRETE"
During a press statement held in the area where the concrete plant is to be built, DOĞADER President Murat Demir stated, "As you come from Bursa to Tahtalı, there are licensed, unlicensed, and illegal factories and junkyards polluting nature everywhere. Bursa is already occupied on all sides. The front, back, right, and left are filled with factories and industrial sites. It is as if every part is invaded by stone and mining quarries. As if all this is not enough, now they want to build a concrete plant in this beautiful place, this forested area, this natural asset. We say do not touch the trees, nature, and greenery of this city anymore."
"WE ARE DEFENDING NATURE AND BURSA"
Because Bursa is no longer 'Green Bursa.' Bursa is now Concrete Bursa. You have buried Bursa in concrete. Do not bury our forests in concrete as well. We do not want concrete here; we want to breathe clean air. Look, Bursa has no water anymore; our reservoirs are empty. In a month, there will be no water flowing from the taps. There is a climate crisis. We are here to protect Bursa's water resources for clean air and clean water against climate change and the climate crisis. We are once again doing what we have been doing for 20 years for the greenery, nature, and people of our Bursa, for the right to live. We are defending nature; we are defending Bursa," he said.
The residents of Tahtalı Neighborhood also chanted slogans with banners in their hands.
