The Central Bank's current inflation forecasts have brought up four different scenarios for the minimum wage that will be applicable in 2026. Accordingly, the minimum wage is expected to range between 27,319 TL and 29,399 TL. The exact figure will be announced during the Minimum Wage Determination Commission meetings to be held in December.

The upward revision of the inflation expectation by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) has directly affected the salary calculations for millions of employees for 2026. The update in inflation forecasts has particularly clarified the figures that will be on the table for the minimum wage.

SALARIES ARE BEING RECALCULATED

According to the new inflation forecast announced by the CBRT, the inflation rate at the end of 2025 is expected to be in the range of 31–33 percent. These rates will serve as the main indicator for the salary calculations for the minimum wage, as well as for SSK, Bağ-Kur, civil servant, and all pension increases that will be valid in 2026.

FOUR DIFFERENT INCREASE SCENARIOS FOR MINIMUM WAGE

No interim increase was made to the minimum wage, which was set at 22,104 TL at the beginning of 2024. According to the new forecasts, four separate increase possibilities are emerging for 2026:

  • 24 percent increase: 27,319 TL
  • 31 percent increase: 28,957 TL
  • 32 percent increase: 29,178 TL
  • 33 percent increase: 29,399 TL

These figures will be clearly shaped by the finalization of inflation and the discussions that the Minimum Wage Determination Commission will hold in December.

NEW MINIMUM WAGE WILL COME INTO EFFECT IN JANUARY 2026

CBRT President Fatih Karahan emphasized that all salary increases are calculated based on inflation forecasts. The Minimum Wage Determination Commission will meet in December to determine the new minimum wage that will be valid in 2026. As in every year, the new minimum wage will come into effect on January 1. During the process where four different increase scenarios are being discussed, millions of employees are eagerly awaiting the decision to be announced by the commission.
