In Erdemli, Mersin, a father of two, Mustafa Kurşun, was shocked when a death notice was published in his name through a fake account. He stated that he has faced many difficulties due to the person he thought was responsible for the announcement, saying, "I was astonished at how my death notice could be published. My friends called me, my phone didn't stop ringing. I called my mother and father to make sure they wouldn't have any health issues."
Mustafa Kurşun, who lives in the Tozlu neighborhood of the Erdemli district, is a married father of two who experienced a great shock when a fake social media account was created in his name and an obituary was posted. After being informed of the situation by calls from his relatives and friends, Kurşun contacted his family and parents to let them know he was alive, and then filed a complaint regarding the bad joke. Kurşun, who believes that the person making numerous negative and inappropriate posts about him is A.Y., stated that he has not been able to get rid of this person.
"I WITHDREW MY COMPLAINT BECAUSE OF MY DISABILITY REPORT"
Mustafa Kurşun, who stated that he works in excavation and gardening, said, "I do land improvement and leveling of covered areas as heavy machinery work. They posted our obituary. It has been about 4-5 days since they started. In short, there are many things he has done. He sends messages on the internet. He shared me as a thief on social media. He took photos of my wife and children, put my number on them, and said that those who want to talk can call these numbers. We filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office. Later, we realized that I withdrew the complaint because he has an 80% disability report. But since he went too far, I took him to court again and hired a lawyer. The process has been ongoing for 2 months. But I don't know how much longer he will continue to share like this. You can see on the screens that my family is being attacked," he said.
"HE SHARED THAT I DIED, I WAS IN SHOCK"
Kurşun also mentioned that the person made many posts about him and his family, saying, "He last shared that I died. I was in shock. My friends called me saying, 'the funeral announcement has been made.' I was astonished at how my funeral announcement could be made. My phone never stopped ringing. I called my mother, I called my father so that they wouldn't have any distress. They called for several days. We are not dead, thank God we are standing," he said.
"A TURK CANNOT GET RID OF THIS PERSON"
Currently, Kurşun stated that he has taken this person to court, saying, "I hope the court examines this friend's reports. I am disturbed on social media; he shared all the photos of my wife and children. I cannot delete these. Like a hacker. He has an 80% disability but knows everything. I want intervention as soon as possible. He makes all kinds of posts. Last summer, he shared us as thieves. He said to call these numbers to talk to my children with their photos. This year, he is posting my obituary. I have not been able to get rid of him. I want to get rid of this as soon as possible," he expressed.
"WE DID NOT ALLOW HIM TO WORK"
Kurşun explained that since they work with heavy machinery, this person had come to them saying, "I want to work," and they had a 15-day trial period. "During the process, we learned that he had a disability report. We did not allow him to work. I don't know if he did it because of that. He has a heavy machinery disease. I looked at my friends' social media, and I saw that he works in some companies. He also uses heavy machinery; I don't know if he has a license," he summarized his experiences.
