In the Geyve district of Sakarya, approximately 1.8 tons of smuggled carcass meat of unknown origin was found in a vehicle stopped by gendarmerie teams. The meat, which was in a vehicle unsuitable for transport conditions and with a non-functioning cooling system, was destroyed on the grounds that it was unfit for consumption after an inspection by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry teams.
Approximately 1.8 tons of smuggled meat seized during a road inspection in the Geyve district of Sakarya have been destroyed.
EXACTLY 1.8 TONS SEIZED
During a road check at the Doğançay neighborhood location, gendarmerie teams stopped a vehicle carrying carcass meat and determined that it did not meet transport conditions and its refrigerated container was not functioning.
The approximately 1.8 tons of carcass meat of unknown origin found in the vehicle were handed over to food control teams from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry for inspection.
ALL DESTROYED
During the inspection, it was determined that the meat was unfit for consumption and lacked a shipping report, invoice, and seal. The confiscated smuggled meat was destroyed.
