With the decision taken by the Ministry of Interior last night, trustees were appointed to the Tunceli Municipality and Ovacık Municipality. Following the trustee decisions, both the HDP and CHP reacted to the decision both in front of the municipalities and on social media.
PROHIBITION OF ACTIONS
After the appointment of trustees, the Tunceli Governorship announced that all kinds of actions and activities such as gathering, walking, vigil, press release, hunger strike, sit-in, rally, setting up stands, setting up tents, distributing leaflets and brochures, sticking stickers, hanging posters and banners would be prohibited for 10 days in the city.
In the statement made by the Tunceli Governorship, the following expressions were included:
"To ensure peace and security within the borders of our province, the inviolability of the person, the safety related to the property, and the public welfare, to prevent provocative actions that may undermine our national unity and solidarity, to establish national security, public order, and safety, to protect the fundamental characteristics of the Republic and the integrity of the State with its territory and nation, to prevent possible illegal actions and to avoid unfortunate events, to prevent actions and attacks that are directly and clearly evaluated as creating restrictions and prohibitions foreseen in our Constitution and laws, to prevent the protection of the rights and freedoms of others, and to prevent possible provocations and potential social events;
Except for the events deemed appropriate by the Governorship and District Governorships, all kinds of actions/activities intended to be held in our province in "open and closed areas (Gathering, Walking, Vigil, Press Release, Hunger Strike, Sit-in, Rally, Setting up Stands, Setting up Tents, Distributing Leaflets/Brochures, Sticking Stickers, Hanging Posters/Banners, etc.) are prohibited for a period of 10 days from 19:30 on 22/11/2024 to 23:59 on 01/12/2024, in accordance with Articles 17 and 19 of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911 and Articles 11/A, B, and C of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442 (including the gendarmerie area)."
PROHIBITION OF ACTIONS IN ELAZIĞ
On the other hand, the Elazığ Governorship also imposed a ban on actions and activities in the city. In the statement made by the Governorship, the following expressions were included:
"With the approval of the Elazığ Governorship dated 22.11.2024 and numbered 2024/12; within the geographical borders of Elazığ province (including the gendarmerie area), all kinds of meetings and demonstrations, press releases, setting up stands, distributing leaflets, hanging posters, etc. are prohibited for a period of 7 days from 00:01 on 23/11/2024 to 23:59 on 29/11/2024, except for those deemed appropriate by the Governorship and District Governorships, in accordance with Articles 17 and 19 of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911 and the provisions of Article 11 (a) and (c) of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442. Additionally, in order to prevent participation in any unlawful actions/activities individually or collectively using our province's route from the city center, districts, or surrounding provinces, a decision has been made to prohibit the entry of individuals/groups who are likely to participate in unlawful actions/activities into our province and districts, and to prohibit their exit from here individually or collectively in accordance with the provisions of Article 11 (c) of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442."
