In the Kartalkaya case, mother Ezgi Çilingir Bağcı and father Eray Bağcı, who lost their 15-year-old son Eren Bağcı in the fire, spoke out. The grieving mother, noting that there are fire alarm system companies, said, "When we look at the reports, we see this: for 30-40 years, the fire sirens have never gone off even once, because there is no wiring."

In the fire disaster at Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu Kartalkaya, where 78 people lost their lives and 133 were injured, the 7th day of the trial of 32 defendants, 19 of whom are in custody, saw the collection of victim statements. Ezgi Bağcı and Eray Bağcı, the parents of 15-year-old high school student Eren Bağcı, who lost his life in the fire, made statements as victims.

HE WAS VOLUNTEERING TO TEACH LITTLE CHILDREN

Eren Bağcı was at the hotel as part of an event organized by the ski school. It was learned that Bağcı, who lived in Ankara and studied at a private high school, started skiing at a very young age and had been pursuing the sport professionally for the last 3 years. It was also noted that Eren volunteered to teach skiing to young children who wanted to learn.

"THE FIRE SIRENS HAVE NOT SOUNDED ONCE IN 30-40 YEARS"

Ezgi Çilingir Bağcı, the mother who lost her son in the fire, said, "We lost our only child. I am proud that we managed to remain good among people who disregard human and moral values to earn money in such a bad way. The difference between us and the defendants here is immorality, lack of conscience, and lack of love. We lost 78 lives in this hotel. I want to provide some technical information because we also have a fire alarm systems company. When we look at the reports, we see this; for 30-40 years, the fire sirens have not sounded even once because there is no cable. It is stated in the first expert report that the sirens do not have cables. There were deleted camera recordings. I request the identification of those who deleted them in the direction of evidence tampering. The hotel board members, who did not even give statements for 65 days after January 21, have not helped justice as much as they tried to empty their bank accounts," she said.

Grieving father Eray Bağcı said, "Eren was a child who had everything that none of the creatures sitting here have. You stole everything from us. These creatures have also stolen the future of this country. You are not only murderers, you are traitors to the homeland. The statements of the defendants have been systematically planned. If they had awakened the hotel guests, they would not have had time to save themselves. Emir Aras, contrary to his statement, prepared his child completely and saved himself at the golden moment of the fire. It is clear that the decision you will make here will be a historic one. The conscience of the defendants is silent; let your justice speak, my president," he stated.
