16 suspects were detained and 20 victimized women were rescued in an operation in Ankara on charges of procuring prostitution. One of the women said in her testimony, "My desperation was taken advantage of. I am the plaintiff and complainant."
Under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Investigation Bureau for Crimes Against Family Protection and Sexual Inviolability, a major blow was dealt to a network facilitating prostitution within the scope of the investigation.
SPECIAL INVESTIGATION TEAMS HAVE BEEN MONITORING FOR 2 MONTHS
The "special investigation teams" formed by the Ankara Police Department's Public Order Branch, Morals Bureau, began monitoring an establishment operating as a nightclub in Çankaya. During two months of surveillance, the teams determined that victimized women were taken out of the nightclub and brought to hotels for prostitution.
20 WOMEN RESCUED
In a raid on the establishment, teams seized phone and camera recordings and detained 16 suspects, including the owner, manager, and head waiters, on charges of facilitating prostitution. As a result of the operation, 20 victimized women were also rescued.
ONE OF THE WOMEN FILED A COMPLAINT
One of the victimized women stated in her testimony, "My desperation was exploited. I am filing a lawsuit and a complaint." It was learned that the investigation into the incident continues.
