In the Yüreğir district of Adana, two people who entered an irrigation canal to cool off nearly drowned. They were rescued by fire crews and citizens, and were taken to the hospital.

Due to the increasing heat in Adana, citizens looking to cool off have turned to irrigation canals, while two separate incidents in the Yüreğir district narrowly averted disaster. 2 people were rescued from drowning at the last moment by firefighters and citizens.

THEY BEGAN STRUGGLING IN THE WATER

The incident occurred in the irrigation canal on Ege Bağatur Boulevard in the Yüreğir district. According to reports, citizens who saw individuals being swept away in the irrigation canal and calling for help notified the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the area.

RESCUED AT THE LAST MOMENT

As a result of the efforts of the teams that arrived at the scene and nearby citizens, the 2 people were pulled from the canal and given first aid by medical teams. The 2 individuals, who were in danger of drowning, were taken to the hospital by ambulance as a precaution and received treatment. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
