A traffic accident on the TAG Highway claimed lives. After a vegetable-laden truck traveling towards Gaziantep struck a car, it lost control and fell from a viaduct approximately 30 meters high, resulting in 3 deaths and 3 injuries. Teams dispatched to the area conducted prolonged rescue and investigation efforts, while an inquiry into the accident was launched.
3 people lost their lives and 3 others were injured in an accident that occurred when a vegetable-laden truck traveling in the direction of Gaziantep rear-ended a car, lost control, and fell from a viaduct. After the truck, which fell from approximately 30 meters, overturned, numerous teams were dispatched to the scene.
TRUCK HITS CAR AND LOSES CONTROL
The accident occurred on the Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep (TAG) Highway, on the Nurdağı Başpınar Viaduct. According to claims, a vegetable-laden truck with license plate 33 BBP 313, driven by İslam Görgülü (23) and carrying 4 people, traveling towards Gaziantep, rear-ended a car with license plate 46 LD 335, driven by Ahmet Ç., which was traveling in the same direction.
The truck, which lost control due to the impact, veered off and fell from the viaduct.
FALLS APPROXIMATELY 30 METERS
After the accident, the truck went off the road, fell from the viaduct about 30 meters high, and overturned. Upon notification, health, gendarmerie, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the region.
The teams worked intensively to reach the people in the truck.
3 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES
In the initial examination at the scene, it was determined that the truck driver İslam Görgülü, along with Abdurrahman Bölüş (64) and Mevlüt Görgülü (37) who were in the vehicle, lost their lives.
It was learned that Gurbet B. (60), who was in the truck, was seriously injured, while 2 people in the car survived the accident with minor injuries.
INJURED TAKEN TO HOSPITAL
After the initial intervention by health teams at the scene, the injured were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulances. It was reported that one of the injured under treatment remains in critical condition.
BODIES TAKEN TO FORENSIC MEDICINE INSTITUTION
The bodies of the 3 deceased were taken to the Gaziantep Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after procedures. It was learned that those who lost their lives in the accident had set out from Mersin to go to the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa.
Due to the accident, traffic on the highway was controlled for a while. An investigation was launched by teams to determine the exact cause of the incident.
