The Supreme Election Council (YSK) rejected the CHP Headquarters' appeal requesting that the held congresses and delegate certificates be deemed valid, following the Ankara Regional Court of Appeal's decision of absolute nullity; meanwhile, it emerged that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu assumed authority and dismissed Özgür Özel's YSK representative Mehmet Hadimi Yakupoğlu from duty.

The Supreme Election Council (YSK) convened at 17:30 to discuss the objection application made by the CHP against the decision of the Ankara Regional Court of Appeal's 36th Civil Chamber regarding "absolute nullity" and the interim injunction. Following a meeting lasting approximately 2 hours, YSK President Serdar Mutta made a statement to the press.

CHP'S OBJECTION WAS REJECTED

Mutta stated that regarding the decision of the Ankara Regional Court of Appeal's 36th Civil Chamber, CHP YSK Representative Mehmet Hadimi Yakupoğlu and CHP attorney Lawyer Kadri Gökhan Sultan submitted some petitions, and the decision of the Ankara Regional Court of Appeal's 36th Civil Chamber was sent to the Board via the system last night.

President Mutta reported that the requests in the petition submitted by Yakupoğlu, namely "determination that the elections held at the CHP 22nd Extraordinary Convention, the Istanbul Provincial Congress dated September 24, 2025, the CHP Istanbul 39th Ordinary Provincial Congress dated October 19, 2025, and the 39th Ordinary Convention on November 28-30, 2025, the validity of the credentials of the delegates elected during this process, and that the duties of those elected continue," were rejected.

CHP'S YSK REPRESENTATIVE YAKUPOĞLU'S DUTY WAS TERMINATED BY KILIÇDAROĞLU

Mutta noted that the petition submitted under the signature of Lawyer Kadri Gökhan Sultan, appointed as the party attorney by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, included requests regarding "the termination of Mehmet Hadimi Yakupoğlu's duty as YSK representative by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, and therefore his applications before the board should not be taken into account." He added, "Due to the 'rejection' decision regarding the initial application, it was ruled that there was no need for a separate decision on this request."

YSK President Serdar Mutta, regarding the letter dated May 21, 2026 sent to the YSK Presidency by the Ankara Regional Court of Appeal's 36th Civil Chamber, said, "Since our Board has no duty or authority granted by the Constitution and laws regarding the execution of civil court decisions, it was unanimously decided that the letter be returned to its origin without any action."

Mutta stated that the justification for the decision would be written later.

YAKUPOĞLU HAD MADE THE APPLICATION

Following the "absolute nullity" decision of the Ankara Regional Court of Appeal regarding the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention, CHP's Supreme Election Council (YSK) Representative Mehmet Hadimi Yakupoğlu had applied to the YSK.
