3 Russian tourists, who got lost due to heavy fog during a nature walk in Amlakit Plateau in Çamlıhemşin district of Rize, were rescued by AFAD, JAK, and mountaineering teams after a 10-hour operation. The rescue moment was captured on camera.
RESCUE OPERATION IN ÇAMLIHEMŞİN
The incident occurred in Amlakit Plateau, part of Çamlıhemşin district. While on a nature walk, 3 Russian tourists lost their way back due to heavy fog. Unable to move because of adverse weather conditions, the tourists called for help. Upon notification, AFAD, JAK, and professional mountaineers were dispatched to the area.
After search efforts meticulously carried out under challenging terrain and adverse weather conditions, teams made contact with the tourists in the morning. Following a difficult walk lasting approximately 10 hours, the tourists were reached around 14:00. After health checks in the area, the tourists were found to be in good condition and are being safely escorted to the settlement area under the teams' control.
