In Samsun, after footage emerged of a 17-year-old girl being brutally beaten by her peers, the prosecutor's office took action. In the investigation launched into the incident, 5 female students who were attackers were arrested.
On the evening of April 30, an incident of peer bullying occurred in the yard of a middle school in Samsun. According to allegations, students who had a prior feud with each other beat 17-year-old D.A. in the schoolyard and recorded the moments with a mobile phone camera.
THEY SMASHED THE GIRL'S HEAD INTO THE GROUND MULTIPLE TIMES
The footage showed D.A. being dragged by her hair, beaten with kicks and punches, and having her head smashed into the ground repeatedly. During the incident, some students in the vicinity were seen directing the violence rather than stopping it, and the events were recorded with mobile phone cameras.
FIVE FEMALE STUDENTS ARRESTED
The beaten student D.A. first went to the District Police Department to file a complaint, and on May 5, she handed over the footage of the assault to the police. After reviewing the footage, the investigation was expanded by the Çarşamba Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
In the scope of the investigation, among the girls involved in the incident, N.S. (19) was arrested first. S.G. (17), B.G. (14), H.K. (15), and S.T. (14), who were referred to the court, were also arrested in the evening and sent to prison.
SUPPORT FOR THE FAMILY
On the other hand, it was learned that socio-economic and psychosocial support was provided to the assaulted girl and her family by the Samsun Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services teams.
