Intermittent clashes also reported between resistance groups and Israeli forces.

At least five Palestinians were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes across Rafah, southern Gaza Strip as the onslaught in the city intensifies, Anadolu has learned.

Medical sources in the Kuwaiti Hospital said besides the dead, 11 others injured also arrived at the facility in the past 24 hours.

Witnesses said Israeli warplanes struck three homes in the hospital's vicinity, destroying them completely.

Intermittent clashes were also reported between the Palestinian resistance groups and Israeli forces in central Rafah, where Israel launched a ground assault earlier this month and has since forced over 810,000 people to flee.

Israel has killed more than 35,500 Palestinians in Gaza since an Oct. 7, 2023 cross-border incursion by Hamas that claimed 1,200 lives. The air and ground attacks have reduced the blockaded enclave to rubble, leading to mass internal displacement and shortage of basic necessities.

Israel seized control of the Gaza side of the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza Strip when it began its invasion on May 6.
