The bodies of the 5 people, including the ex-wife murdered by the murderer Metin Öztürk, who committed suicide upon realizing he would be caught in the Tarsus and Çamlıyayla districts of Mersin, were sent to the cemeteries after funeral prayers. The body of the truck driver Gökay Sefiloğlu was sent to his hometown Niğde.
A funeral ceremony was held for Arzu Özden, Metin Öztürk's ex-wife whom he killed in Tarsus, as well as Sabri Pan, Ahmet Ercan Can, Abdullah Koca, Yusuf Oktay, and Gökay Sefiloğlu.
FUNERAL PRAYER WAS PERFORMED, BODIES WERE SENT OFF While gendarmerie, prosecutor, and crime scene teams continued their work at the site where the suspect committed suicide, the autopsy procedures for the bodies were completed. Among the bodies retrieved from the morgue, the remains of Arzu Özden, Ahmet Ercan, Sabri Pan, Abdullah Koca, and Yusuf Oktay were brought to Tarsus City Cemetery. The funeral prayer for the 5 individuals was performed here. The funeral prayer was attended by Mersin Governor Atilla Toros, Mersin Metropolitan Mayor Vahap Seçer, Tarsus Mayor Ali Boltaç, members of parliament, district protocol, families, relatives, and many citizens.
After the prayer led by Tarsus Mufti Murat Akçay, the bodies were placed in vehicles. Among the bodies, Arzu Özden's remains were sent to Darıpınarı, Abdullah Koca's to Yeniköy, Yusuf Emre Oktay's to Karakütük, and the remains of Ahmet Ercan and Sabri Pan were sent to Ardıçlı neighborhood cemeteries for burial.

Gökay Selfioğlu KILLED 6 PEOPLE INCLUDING HIS EX-WIFE, WOUNDED 8 In the incident that occurred yesterday, Metin Öztürk (37) opened fire with a pistol at the butcher shop and restaurant in Kadelli Neighborhood of Tarsus district where he had worked about a year ago, killing employee Ahmet Ercan and business owner Sabri Pan. The suspect, who fled the scene in his white car with license plate 01 B 9171, shot and killed truck driver Gökay Selfioğlu at a gas station in Yeniköy Neighborhood. Continuing his escape, the suspect shot and killed his ex-wife Arzu Özden walking by the roadside in Darıpınarı Neighborhood of Çamlıyayla district, and killed Abdullah Koca in Yeniköy Neighborhood by rolling him into a ditch on a motorcycle. Continuing his escape, the suspect killed Yusuf Oktay, one of the young shepherds in Karakütük Neighborhood. During his attacks, the suspect also wounded 8 people along the route. The injured were taken to Tarsus State Hospital and nearby hospitals by ambulances for treatment.
OPERATION LASTED UNTIL MORNING After the massacre in which 6 people died and 8 were injured, a large number of gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region to capture the suspect. While helicopter-supported efforts continued to capture the fleeing suspect, the car with license plate 01 B 9171, in which the suspect had fled, was located in the countryside of Karakütük Neighborhood. The operation to capture the suspect, who was thought to have fled into the forested area, lasted until morning.
