The 19 Mayıs Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Diyarbakır. Folk dances, erbane performances, and sports shows prepared by young people attracted great interest, while the passage of motorized dolphin teams left a mark on the ceremony.
A ceremony was held in front of the governor's office in Diyarbakır to celebrate May 19, the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. The performances prepared by the youth at the ceremony were highly appreciated.
The program began with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem. It was attended by Diyarbakır Governor Murat Zorluoğlu, as well as 7th Corps and Garrison Commander Major General Ertan İnaltekin, Chief Public Prosecutor Erdal Kuruçay, military officials, political party members, institution directors, athletes, and many citizens. Governor Murat Zorluoğlu, who arrived at the ceremony area, greeted the citizens and youth for the holiday and then took his place in the protocol. As part of the program, the congratulatory message of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak, was read.
19 MAY CELEBRATED WITH ERBANE AND KURDISH MUSIC
Afterwards, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Cenk Öztekin made a speech about the meaning and importance of the day. During the celebration program, students read poems, and Atatürk's Address to the Youth was recited. The Thrace region folk dance show prepared by Dicle University, as well as the taekwondo, wushu, gymnastics, and judo performances by athletes from the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, received applause from the audience. Following the Erbane show accompanied by Kurdish music and stylized folk dance performances, motorized dolphin teams affiliated with the Provincial Police Department performed a passing show. During the program, awards were also given to athletes who achieved rankings in various branches and students who succeeded in TEKNOFEST competitions.
The ceremony ended with a visit to the youth and sports stands in Monument Park.
