REQUEST FOR ARREST OF 8 SUSPECTS In this context, the procedures for 13 suspects detained during the operation carried out by gendarmerie teams on August 12 have been completed. The suspects, brought to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan, were first subjected to a health check. The statement procedures of the suspects brought to the courthouse have been completed. The prosecutor's office referred Taner Çetin, the head of the IMM Press and Public Relations Department, along with Örsan Çetin, Doğukan Arıcı, İlkay Onok, Ömer Aydın, Ümit Güngör, Ferhat Karatop, Ali Arslan, and Ahmet Işık to the peace court with a request for their arrest. Taner Çetin's wife, Canan Çetin, and other suspects Baran Yalgı, Emine Merve Köseoğlu, Serkan Gürsoy, and Mehmet Ünal requested the application of judicial control measures from the prosecutor's office.
6 SUSPECTS SENT TO PRISON The court decided to arrest 6 suspects. The court, which decided to apply judicial control measures including a "travel ban" for 5 suspects, ruled that for the 2 suspects whose arrest was requested, measures of "travel ban" and "signing" should be applied.
WHAT HAPPENED? The prosecutor's office had initiated an investigation into the corruption case linked to Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was arrested, and Taner Çetin, the head of the IMM Press and Public Relations Department, who was previously arrested in the corruption investigation connected to İmamoğlu since his time as the Mayor of Beylikdüzü.
In the investigations, it was found that detained suspect Taner Çetin organized tenders for companies close to him, causing public harm by providing financial benefits to himself and the criminal organization from the companies that won the tenders. A detention order was issued for 14 IMM personnel, company representatives, and employees identified as being involved in the unfair financial benefit processes related to the tenders in which suspect Çetin was involved, on charges of "membership in an organization," "interfering with a tender," "bribery," and "qualified fraud."
Taner Çetin In accordance with the instructions of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, on August 12, gendarmerie teams conducted an operation in which Taner Çetin's wife Canan Çetin, his son Örsan Çetin, along with Doğukan Arıcı, İlkay Onok, Baran Yalgı, Emine Merve Köseoğlu, Ömer Aydın, Ümit Güngör, Ferhat Karatop, Mehmet Ünal, Ali Arslan, Ahmet Işık, and Serkan Gürsoy were detained.
