Six out of 17 people who carried out irregular marriage procedures in exchange for bribes at the Kırklareli Municipality marriage office were arrested. The seized amount was 41,000 lira, 900 dollars, and 100 euros.
In an operation against suspects who conducted irregular marriage procedures in exchange for bribes in Kırklareli, 6 out of 17 people taken into custody were arrested. Following allegations that marriage procedures for foreign nationals were carried out in violation of regulations in the Kırklareli Municipality marriage office, an investigation was initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. In this context, on February 28, 12 suspects, including marriage officer A.A., were taken into custody.
7 PEOPLE RELEASED
During searches at the suspects' addresses, 41,000 lira, 900 dollars, and 100 euros were seized at the home of marriage officer A.A. Later, 5 more suspects were caught as part of the investigation, raising the total number of detainees to 17. During the processing of the suspects at the police station, 7 were released, and 10 were referred to the courthouse. Among the suspects brought before the court, marriage officer A.A. along with D.Ş., S.U., M.E., Ş.A., and Y.A. were arrested, while the others were released under judicial control.
