In Karamürsel district of Kocaeli, 21-year-old S.A. sexually abused a 14-year-old girl he met on social media at his boss's villa. The case, which was brought to court after the child reported the situation to her family, saw the first hearing take place without the attendance of the defendant S.A., who is not in custody.
An incident that caused an uproar occurred in 2023 in the Karamürsel district of Kocaeli. A 14-year-old named B.N.M, who was staying at a care home, started talking to a 21-year-old named S.A. via Instagram.
SEXUAL ABUSE OF A CHILD IN THE BOSS'S VILLA
B.N.M, who ran away from the care home, met with S.A. S.A. took B.N.M to his boss's villa and sexually abused the girl. The incident came to light when the child explained the situation to her mother. Following the complaint, S.A. was detained but was released to stand trial without arrest.
THE SUSPECT DID NOT ATTEND THE HEARING
The first hearing of the case opened for the charges of "deprivation of liberty and sexual abuse of a child" began at the Kocaeli 4th High Criminal Court. The victim's lawyer was present in the courtroom, while the suspect S.A. did not attend the hearing.
"MY PSYCHOLOGY IS DISTURBED, I CAN'T GO OUT"
The victim child attended the hearing with the help of a pedagogue via the AGO system from Kastamonu. In her statement taken with the pedagogue, B.N.M said, "I am currently 15 years old. My custody is with my father, but I am living with my mother right now. Before this, I was staying in care homes. While I was staying in a care home in Karamürsel, I met the suspect S.A. via Instagram, and we started flirting. We talked for 2-3 weeks, then decided to meet. He invited me to his house. His sisters were also at home. Later, he took me to the villa after getting a key from the house. The suspect told me he was 17 years old. I was 14 at that time, and I told him my age correctly. He sexually abused me twice there. I didn't want him to do it, I pushed him away. I acted without knowing what would happen, and I regret it a lot. When morning came, I left the house and never met him again. The suspect knew that I was staying in a care home and that I had run away from there. I only shared what happened to me with my mother and stepfather. Later, we filed a complaint. My psychology has been disturbed because of the suspect. I can't go outside because of him, I am complaining." she stated.
THE HEARING WAS ADJOURNED
The court panel adjourned the hearing to take the suspect's statement. It was learned that in the statement taken during the investigation phase, the suspect claimed to know that the victim was 18 years old and said that they had a relationship with her consent.
