After being shot in the head with a gun in Burdur and spending 1 month in a coma, a 14-year-old child recounted the horror he experienced as soon as he opened his eyes. The young child, who said that the 62-year-old man who brought him to the hospital and claimed he committed suicide had molested him, suffered a seizure after being discharged. The child, hospitalized again, remained paralyzed.

A 14-year-old child, who was allegedly shot in the head for resisting harassment in Burdur, was readmitted to intensive care after suffering a seizure following discharge. After approximately one month of treatment, the child was found to be paralyzed and is continuing treatment.

"CHILD COMMITTED SUICIDE" ALLEGATION

The incident occurred on the evening of May 8 at Şeker Beach in Burdur. According to allegations, A.K. (62) harassed E.H. (14), who was in the same vehicle. When E.H. resisted, A.K. shot the child in the head with a gun in the car. A.K., who took the seriously injured E.H. to Burdur State Hospital, reportedly told medical teams that the child had attempted suicide.

Following the report, police launched an investigation and A.K. was taken into custody. After processing at the police station, the suspect was referred to court and released on judicial control on May 9.

AFTER COMING OUT OF COMA, HE TOLD EVERYTHING

Initially treated in the intensive care unit of Burdur State Hospital, E.H. was later transferred to Isparta City Hospital for advanced treatment. After about one month in a coma, the child, upon regaining consciousness, stated in his first statement that A.K. had harassed him and shot him when he resisted. Following this statement, A.K. was re-arrested by the Homicide Bureau of the Burdur Provincial Police Department and was subsequently remanded to prison on charges of 'sexual abuse of a child' and 'attempted murder' by the court.

SUFFERED A SEIZURE, LEFT PARALYZED

After completing initial treatment, E.H. was discharged but was soon readmitted to the hospital due to a seizure. The child, who received intensive care for about a month, was discharged paralyzed, and it was learned that he does not use the right side of his body and cannot speak. E.H.'s treatment is reportedly continuing with a physical therapy and rehabilitation process.
