A 16-year-old boy in Esenyurt killed an 81-year-old man in a park, claiming that the man had made a pass at his girlfriend. The horrifying moments were captured on security cameras.

A brutal incident occurred on December 7 in a park located on Çelebi Mehmet Street in the Mevlana neighborhood of Esenyurt, Istanbul.

16-YEAR-OLD BOY ASSAULTED ELDERLY MAN IN THE PARK

16-year-old basketball player E.T. started arguing with 81-year-old Mustafa Ergene, whom he claimed was making advances towards his girlfriend. After a while, the 16-year-old boy attacked the elderly man with punches. E.T. fled the scene after beating Ergene, who collapsed to the ground.

DIED IN HOSPITAL

Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene following a report from bystanders. While the medical teams provided first aid to Ergene and transported him to the hospital by ambulance, the police began working to capture the fleeing suspect by reviewing nearby security camera footage. Despite all the interventions at the hospital, Ergene lost his life.

THEY HAD ARGUMENT A DAY BEFORE

Ergene's son stated in his testimony to the police that there had been another argument between the two a day before the incident, but no report had been made to the police.

SURRENDERED TO THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE

While the police investigation was ongoing, E.T. went to the prosecutor's office and surrendered on December 12. After completing the procedures at the prosecutor's office, E.T. was arrested by the judicial authorities and sent to prison.
