In Gaziantep, a 17-year-old youth shot and killed his father with a pump-action shotgun following an argument. It was learned that the son, who was detained in connection with the death of 43-year-old Mehmet Özhan, who lost his life at the scene, was a substance addict.
In the Şehitkamil district of Gaziantep, blood was shed during a domestic fight that occurred at night hours. A 17-year-old youth, who was found to be a drug addict, shot and killed his 43-year-old father during an argument with a pump-action shotgun. The young suspect was apprehended by police teams in a short time.
The incident took place at night in a house on Mecit Street in the Çıksorut neighborhood of the Şehitkamil district. According to the information obtained, a dispute broke out between 43-year-old Mehmet Özhan and his son E.Ö. (17) for an unknown reason.
ARGUMENT ESCALATED, OPENED FIRE WITH PUMP-ACTION SHOTGUN
As the verbal argument inside the house quickly escalated, the enraged 17-year-old E.Ö. took the pump-action shotgun he had with him, aimed it at his father Mehmet Özhan, and mercilessly opened fire. Upon neighborhood residents hearing the gunshots and reporting the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the address.
UNFORTUNATE FATHER DIED AT THE SCENE
In the initial examination by medical teams who arrived at the scene in a short time, it was determined that father Mehmet Özhan, who was severely injured by pellets hitting his body, had lost his life. The lifeless body of the unfortunate father was taken to the Gaziantep Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after examinations. Following the completion of the autopsy procedures there, the body was handed over to his relatives for burial.
MURDER SUSPECT SON FOUND TO BE A DRUG ADDICT
The murder suspect E.Ö., who attempted to flee after the incident, was caught red-handed and taken into custody as a result of the rapid pursuit by teams from the Gaziantep Police Department's Public Order Branch Directorate Homicide Bureau. It was reported that the 17-year-old suspect, who was found to be a drug addict, is continuing to undergo procedures and questioning at the police station.
