A 19-year-old young woman who was hiking in the Bucegi Mountains near Brasov city in Romania was attacked by a bear and lost her life. The bear threw the young woman down a 122-meter cliff. Rescue teams that arrived at the scene killed the bear that was circling around the young woman's body. Following this tragic incident, the Prime Minister of Romania called for an extraordinary parliamentary session to prevent bear attacks.

A 19-year-old girl who was hiking in the Bucegi Mountains near the city of Brasov in central Romania was attacked by a bear. The young woman, who was thrown off a 122-meter cliff by the bear, lost her life.

BEAR DRAGGED THE YOUNG GIRL AND THEN THREW HER OFF THE CLIFF

According to the girl's boyfriend, the bear first caught the girl's leg and dragged her before throwing her off the cliff. Local authorities stated that Maria, who was in fear, called for help from the emergency services during the bear attack.

Rescue teams, who arrived at the scene, found the bear circling around the young girl's body. The teams killed the bear in order to reach the body.

The boyfriend of the young girl, who witnessed the attack and was unharmed, said, "The bear suddenly appeared. I tried to scare the bear away, but unfortunately, it didn't work. I wish it was me instead."

According to the rescue teams, the bear attacked the young woman on the road, dragged her into the forested area, and threw her off a cliff there.

INVESTIGATION INTO THE CAUSE OF THE ATTACK

Nature experts continue to investigate the reasons behind the bear's attack. Some experts suggest that the young girl may have fallen off the cliff while trying to escape from the bear's attack.

Following this tragedy, the Prime Minister of Romania called for an extraordinary parliamentary session to prevent bear attacks. Romania is home to the largest brown bear population in Europe, except for Russia.
