The suspect, Bayram Y., who shone a laser into Gedson Fernandes' eye during the penalty kick, stated in his testimony that he is a high school graduate and is preparing for university entrance exams.

HE ADMITTED HIS CRIME

The individual, who identified himself as a Fenerbahçe fan, admitted that he was watching the match from the upper north stand of the stadium with a friend and acknowledged that he shone a laser into the player's eye during a situation that occurred in the 36th minute of the match.

HE RECEIVED A BAN FROM SPORTS

The suspect, who claimed that the incident happened spontaneously and was not planned, stated that he had no intention of harming anyone and expressed regret for what happened. Following the judicial process initiated after the incident, the individual was penalized under Law No. 6222. The prosecutor's office imposed a ban from sports on Bayram Y. Additionally, he was required to report to the police station and sign in on every match day that Fenerbahçe plays for a year.
