In Beyoğlu, 28-year-old Ramazan Kutlu was found motionless on a sofa bed at home and determined to have lost his life. While drugs were found in the house, his Pakistani girlfriend was taken into custody. The prosecutor's office launched a 'suspicious death' investigation into the incident.
It was determined that 28-year-old Ramazan Kutlu, found motionless on a sofa bed in a basement apartment in Beyoğlu, lost his life. During the examination of the home, drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized, and an investigation was launched into the incident.
CITIZENS NOTICED
The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 28, at around 16:00 in Kamer Hatun Mahallesi. According to allegations, citizens looking through the window of the basement apartment noticed a person lying motionless inside and reported the situation to the police. Upon the report, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams entering the home found Ramazan Kutlu motionless on the sofa bed. A check by health teams confirmed that Kutlu had lost his life.
DRUGS AND PARAPHERNALIA FOUND AT HOME
During the police teams' examination of the home, a quantity of drugs, drug paraphernalia used for consumption, and drug butts in an ashtray were found. Authorities stated that no signs of beatings or sharp object wounds were found on Kutlu's body.
GIRLFRIEND TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
As part of the investigation, the statement of Kutlu's Pakistani national girlfriend Fatıma Zahra L., who lived in the same home, was taken. It was learned that the woman stated in her statement that Kutlu suddenly became ill and she called the 112 Emergency Call Center. Legal action was initiated against Fatıma Zahra L., who was taken into custody by police teams, for the crime of "using drugs." It was also learned that the woman had records for the crimes of "intentional injury," "false statements in the preparation of official documents," and "receiving and accepting stolen goods."
HANDED OVER FOR DEPORTATION
Following the completion of procedures, Fatıma Zahra L. was handed over to the Repatriation Center for deportation by order of the prosecutor's office. The body of Ramazan Kutlu, who was married and a father of one child, was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue to determine the exact cause of death. The prosecutor's office launched an investigation into the incident under the category of "suspicious death."
