29-year-old mother Daniella Hampton experienced a big shock when she found out that the birth control device she used 12 years ago was found in her rectum. Daniella had used an intrauterine device (IUD) called a copper coil, which was inserted into her uterus in 2009. However, it was said to have fallen out six weeks later and doctors couldn't confirm its presence. Daniella never lost her belief that the device was still in her body and felt that doctors didn't take her seriously when she claimed to have pain in her buttocks. REVEALED AFTER A CAR ACCIDENTDaniella, a mother of two, didn't know that she had a birth control device inside her despite undergoing years of infertility treatment. It was revealed through an X-ray taken after a car accident that the device had pierced her uterus and settled in her colon. The surgical removal of the device provided Daniella with "relief" and she gave birth to her second son, Champion Hampton, in April this year. A CALL TO WOMENDaniella wrote under the photos she shared on social media, "Trust your body, ladies. I always knew it was inside me but couldn't prove it." This experience has made Daniella wary of birth control methods and encouraged other women to trust their bodies. Daniella said, "I trusted my doctor, believed what he said. But now I only use the pill because I can stop taking it whenever I want."
