A military personnel who came on leave from an overseas mission in Elazığ fired a gun at his wife multiple times in front of their 4-year-old child during an argument at home. While the unfortunate woman’s lifeless body, who died at the scene, was taken to the morgue, the suspect was caught red-handed by police inside the building.
A person identified as military personnel in Elazığ killed his wife by shooting her after an argument.
SHOT HER REPEATEDLY IN FRONT OF THEIR CHILD
The incident occurred on the 5th floor of a building on Prof. Dr. Naci Görür Street in Doğukent Neighborhood. According to information obtained, Murat Ç., identified as military personnel, returned from overseas duty to his hometown Elazığ and began arguing with his wife Derya Ç., with whom he had marital discord, for an unknown reason. As the argument escalated, Murat Ç. fired multiple shots at his wife with a pistol while their 4-year-old child was at home.
TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
The unfortunate woman died at the scene, and upon hearing the gunshots, building residents alerted authorities, prompting health teams and numerous police units to be dispatched to the address. Murat Ç., who killed his wife, was taken into custody by police inside the building.
After the public prosecutor's investigation at the scene, Derya Ç.'s lifeless body was taken to Fırat University Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
