A bus carrying 80 people crashed in Amasya: 46 people injured, 2 seriously.

In a crash in the Merzifon district of Amasya, 46 people, including 2 in serious condition, were injured when a double-decker passenger bus belonging to Metro Turism overturned.

In the accident that occurred at 04.20 on the D-100 Highway at the Karamağara location on the Gümüşhacıköy-Merzifon direction; a double-decker bus belonging to Metro Tourism with license plate 34 DT 5602, driven by Enver Büyükkol, moving from Tekirdağ to Ordu, carrying 75 passengers and 5 crew members, went out of control for an unknown reason and overturned into a ditch.

NUMEROUS TEAMS DISPATCHED TO THE SCENE

Following the accident, health, AFAD, firefighting, and security teams were dispatched to the scene. In the accident, 46 people were injured, 2 of them seriously. After initial interventions at the scene, the injured were taken to hospitals in Merzifon, Amasya, Suluova, and Gümüşhacıköy by ambulances.

AMASYA GOVERNOR'S OFFICE MADE A STATEMENT

In its statement regarding the accident, the Amasya Governor's Office stated, "Today at approximately 04.20, a traffic accident occurred as a result of a double-decker intercity passenger bus carrying 75 passengers and 5 crew members overturning on the D/100-17 Highway at the Karamağara location on the Gümüşhacıköy-Merzifon direction. Following the accident, health, security, AFAD, and firefighting units were promptly dispatched to the scene, and a total of 46 people were injured, 2 of them seriously, and the injured have been transported to surrounding hospitals. A judicial investigation into the accident has been initiated, and we wish a speedy recovery to our injured citizens."
