Although there was no one inside the Altur passenger bus parked on Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Street in the Anadolu neighborhood of Arnavutköy, it began to move after losing its brakes.
IT STOPPED BY CRASHING INTO THE SHANTY
The bus, which skidded on the street, was able to stop by crashing into the wall of the shanty. The moment of the accident was recorded by a security camera. The footage showed a woman and a motorcyclist courier narrowly escaping being trapped under the bus.
"THERE HAVE BEEN MANY ACCIDENTS BEFORE"
The owner of the shanty that the bus crashed into, Cevdet Koç, stated, "This bus parks here every day. Today it parked, lost its brakes, and came here and crashed. There have been many accidents here before; I told the municipality that there needs to be a speed bump here. There is also a natural gas box here; other things could have happened. Previously, small and large vehicles have crashed here 6-7 times. We arrived here 15 minutes after the accident; right here, a motorcyclist courier had stopped to see where the bus was going."
