In Sancaktepe, businessman Hüseyin Atılgan was arrested for shooting Bekir Eydoğan in the leg during a road rage dispute. In his statement, Atılgan said he fired towards the ground to defend himself.

Businessman Hüseyin Atılgan, who shot and injured Bekir Eydoğan in the leg during a traffic dispute in Sancaktepe, Istanbul, was arrested by the court he was brought to. In his statement, the suspect said, "He insulted me while squeezing me with his vehicle. He tried to hit me. I fired a shot towards the ground; I did not aim at the person. My intention was to defend myself."

The incident occurred a few days ago at the Samandıra intersections in Sancaktepe. According to allegations, a dispute arose between businessman Hüseyin Atılgan and Bekir Eydoğan over a traffic yielding issue. As the argument escalated, Atılgan fired at Eydoğan with a gun he pulled from his waist. While the injured person was taken to the hospital by ambulance, Atılgan left the scene by getting into his car. After the incident, the suspect was caught and taken into custody, and following his procedures at the police station, he was referred to the Anadolu Courthouse in Kartal.

"IF I WANTED TO HURT HIM..."

In his statement at the prosecutor's office, suspect Hüseyin Atılgan said, "While I was driving in traffic, I came across a wedding convoy with 6-7 cars. While I was waiting, signaling for them to pass, the complainant squeezed me with his vehicle and stopped in front of me. He blocked me and during this time, he insulted me and my deceased mother with foul language. Before this, when he saw my car's license plate, he cursed, saying that all of these people from Rize would be cursed. Before I even realized what was happening, he came at me and started to hit me. When I asked why he hit me, he tried to come at me again. Upon this, I fired a shot towards the ground; I did not aim at the person. When he said, 'I was shot,' I replied, 'What do you mean shot?' and I got into my car and left. The person said to me, 'I will show you.' I wouldn't want to experience such an event; my intention was to defend myself. He had already insulted my mother, who passed away 2 months ago, multiple times. He punched me at least 10-15 times. If I wanted to hurt him, I could have aimed directly at him, but despite this, I fired a bullet towards the ground just to save my own life," he said.

HE WAS ARRESTED

After his statement to the prosecutor's office, the suspect, who was referred to the court with a request for arrest, was arrested by the Anadolu 5th Criminal Court of Peace for the crime of 'intentional injury.'
