A fire broke out in a banana plantation in the Gazipaşa district of Antalya. It was brought under control after approximately 5 hours of work.

Residents who noticed the fire in the banana plantation, which broke out for an unknown reason, reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the report, teams from the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Gazipaşa Fire Department and gendarmerie were dispatched to the scene.



The fire, which grew rapidly, spread to the treasure land covered with maquis vegetation surrounding the banana plantation. The firefighting efforts initiated by the fire department were also joined by teams from the Gazipaşa Forest Management Directorate.



CONTROLLED AFTER 5 HOURS



The efforts to bring the fire under control were hampered by difficult terrain conditions, making it challenging for the teams to intervene in the flames. After approximately 5 hours of work, the fire was brought under control. Cooling efforts by the teams in the area are ongoing.
