Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on the parties involved in the escalating tensions in the Middle East, due to the attacks by the United States and Israel and Iran's retaliations, to immediately cease their military operations and to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control and spreading to other countries, thereby avoiding the expansion of the conflict.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a press conference titled "China's Foreign Policy and Foreign Relations" in the capital Beijing as part of the annual general assembly of the National People's Congress of China.

During the meeting, Wang stated that China has repeatedly expressed its position since the beginning of the crisis, saying, "China's position can be summarized in a single message: Achieving a ceasefire and ending the conflicts."

"THIS WAR SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IN THE FIRST PLACE"

Referring to the old Chinese proverb, "Weapons are ominous tools and should not be used carelessly," Wang expressed, "When we see the Middle East engulfed in flames, we understand that this war should not have happened in the first place."

CRITICAL CALL FROM CHINA

Pointing out that the history of the Middle East has shown the world that power is not a solution and that armed conflicts only fuel hatred and breed new crises, Wang stated, "China once again calls for an immediate end to military operations to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control and the conflict from spreading to other countries."

Wang emphasized that for a correct and appropriate solution to issues related to Iran and the Middle East, the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of both Iran and all countries in the Gulf must be respected and not violated.

"THE WORLD SHOULD NOT RETURN TO THE LAW OF THE JUNGLE"

Highlighting the need to reject the abuse of power, Wang remarked, "The strong are not necessarily right; the world should not return to the law of the jungle." He stated that the internal affairs of Middle Eastern countries should not be interfered with, that the peoples of the Middle East are the true masters of the region, and that regional countries should make independent decisions regarding the region's affairs, emphasizing that organizing color revolutions and seeking regime changes will not gain popular support.

Wang noted that China believes in the value of peace and advocates for the promotion of political solutions to conflicts, stating, "All parties should return to the negotiating table as soon as possible, resolve their differences through equal dialogue, and strive to realize common security."

Wang pointed out that major countries should play a constructive role and use their power with goodwill, saying, "Major countries should act with a spirit of justice and fairness, providing positive energy for peace and development in the Middle East." Minister Wang added that they are ready to work with regional countries to restore order in the Middle East and bring peace to the world by jointly implementing the Global Governance Initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
