Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin holds private photos and videos belonging to U.S. President Donald Trump. Arguing that these images could be behind Trump's closeness to Putin, Clinton suggested that even Trump's supporters would be shocked when the entire Jeffrey Epstein files are released.
Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made striking claims about the relationship between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in the "High Stakes" podcast she co-hosts with journalist Kara Swisher. Clinton, stating that she believes Putin holds some photos and videos belonging to Trump, suggested that even Trump's supporters could be stunned if all the Jeffrey Epstein files were released.
Clinton argued that secret information could lie behind Trump's attitude toward the Russian leader. Saying she believes Putin has material that could allow him to pressure Trump, the former secretary said, "I continue to believe that Putin has something on Trump. I believe he is holding photos, videos, or whatever it is." No concrete evidence supporting Clinton's claim was shared.
SHE POINTED TO THE EPSTEIN FILES
Clinton, also touching on the files concerning Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sexual abuse crimes, argued that Trump opposes the public release of the documents.
The former secretary said, "When we finally see all the Epstein files, I think even the people who support Trump will be shocked by what these files reveal about Trump."
Clinton suggested that the reasons for Trump's closeness to Putin could include his desire for power, business interests, and the information she believes the Russian leader holds.
"TRUMP ADMIRES PUTIN'S POWER"
Clinton, also touching on the history of the relationship between Trump and Putin, claimed that the U.S. President has for many years admired the absolute power held by the Russian leader.
Recalling that Trump continued his business ventures to build Trump Tower in Moscow during the 2016 presidential elections, Clinton argued that relations with Russia were not limited to the political dimension.
Clinton also noted that during his election campaign Trump called on Russia to find his own email correspondence, saying that these words occupy an important place in debates over Moscow's interference in the elections.
"RUSSIAN INTELLIGENCE HELPED TRUMP"
Claiming that in the 2016 U.S. presidential election Russia wanted Trump to win, Clinton argued that the Moscow administration tried to influence the election process through online activities and intelligence elements.
Clinton reacted to Trump's description of allegations regarding Russia's interference in the elections as a "Russia hoax," saying, "He does this to every claim that can be proven against him. Because he never wants to accept what the truth is."
Clinton suggested that Putin saw her as a political rival and therefore preferred Trump to be elected president.
"MORE COMMITTED TO PUTIN THAN TO U.S. SECURITY"
Clinton, also criticizing Trump's foreign policy approach, argued that the U.S. President does not keep enough distance from Putin.
Clinton said, "Trump is more committed to Putin than he is to freedom, democracy, and frankly U.S. national security."
The former secretary, noting that she had taken a clear stance against Russia's policies in the past, expressed that she believes Putin poses a threat to both Europe and the U.S.
Clinton's statements that there are secret images belonging to Trump and that the Epstein files will reveal new information about Trump stood out as her own assessments and claims, not verified findings.
