A dog in China was nearly suffocated after its leash got caught in an elevator door.

A terrible incident occurred in Shijiazhuang, China. The leash of a dog that entered the elevator got stuck in the door while its owner stayed outside to grab their bags. When the elevator started moving, the dog, which was left hanging in the air, fell when the leash broke and fortunately survived. A similar incident happened last year in Brazil, where an 11-year-old child acted quickly to prevent their dog from drowning. Experts warn to be cautious with pets in elevators.

The incident that occurred in Shijiazhuang, China, was captured moment by moment by the apartment's security cameras. The footage recorded on October 14 shows moments when a dog narrowly escaped death due to its leash getting stuck in the elevator door.

In the incident, a black-and-white dog entered the elevator while its elderly owner stayed outside to grab some bags. As the man tried to get into the elevator, the doors closed. At that moment, the dog's leash and harness got caught in the door. As the elevator began to move upward, the dog was left hanging in the air. The terrified animal fell to the ground when the leash miraculously broke, escaping without serious injury.

A similar incident occurred in Brazil last year. 11-year-old Thiago Magalhães had entered the elevator with his dog Milú. As the leash got stuck in the door, the dog was being pulled towards the ceiling, but the quick thinking of the young boy prevented a tragedy. Magalhães held onto the leash, preventing his dog from choking. Although both fell, they did not suffer serious injuries.

Veterinary experts warn pet owners to be cautious when using elevators. It is recommended to keep the leash short, carry the animal if possible, and use easily detachable leashes. It is noted that such accidents frequently occur, especially in elevators with automatic doors.

After these incidents, many pet owners emphasized the need for increased safety measures in elevators. Experts continue to remind people of the important points to consider when using elevators.
