It has been learned that WhatsApp, the world's most popular messaging app, is preparing to bring a voice sticker feature to its Android app. With the new feature, users will be able to add up to 10 seconds of audio to their stickers, and animated stickers created from videos will be able to become audio-enabled. The message typing area is also expected to be redesigned.
WhatsApp is preparing to add new features to its Android app to improve the user experience. The innovations, reportedly spotted in the beta version of the app, include voice stickers, a redesigned message typing screen, and adjustments for customizing stickers.
STICKERS WILL NOW HAVE SOUND
According to Digital Trends, WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to add sound to stickers they create from photos.
In the new system, users will be able to add their own voice recordings or audio files on their devices to their stickers. Sounds are expected to be no longer than 10 seconds.
ANIMATED STICKERS WILL AUTOMATICALLY GET SOUND
A different system is planned for animated stickers created from videos.
Accordingly, WhatsApp will automatically add a 5-second segment from the video's original audio to the sticker. If users want, they will be able to replace this sound with their own recordings or a different audio file.
MESSAGE TYPING SCREEN IS CHANGING
Another innovation WhatsApp is testing is a redesign of the message typing area.
In the new design, the section where messages are typed is expected to be on the top line, while icons for files and other features are on the bottom line.
With the two-line layout, users are intended to have a wider area while typing messages.
THE WHITE BORDER ON STICKERS CAN BE REMOVED
It is reported that the company is also working on an option to remove the outer border on personalized stickers.
With this feature, users will be able to adjust the edge appearance of stickers they create from their own photos according to their preferences.
WHEN WILL IT BE MADE AVAILABLE?
The features reportedly tested in the Android beta version are said to still be in development.
It is not yet known when WhatsApp will make voice stickers and the new message typing design available to all users. It is also not certain whether the tested features will be added to the final version.
