A Filipino female tourist in Taiwan fell onto the tracks after touching the train while taking a photo in front of a moving train. The woman, who got stuck between the sidewalk and the tracks, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. It was reported that she would be fined for violating the safe zone.
A terrifying accident occurred in Taiwan.
According to local media reports, the incident took place on January 20, in Shifen Old Street, a popular tourist destination in the Pingxi district of New Taipei City.
THE MOMENT OF THE INCIDENT ON CAMERA
In footage recorded by a security camera from a nearby business, the woman can be seen extending her arms to pose for a photo when she is struck by a train car. As a result of the impact, the woman loses her balance and tumbles between the speeding train and the sidewalk.
According to the Central News Agency (CNA) of Taiwan, the New Taipei City Fire Department reported that the tourist, in her 30s, sustained a cut on her head measuring 3 to 5 centimeters in length.
SUSTAINED SERIOUS INJURIES
The police reported that the tourist was injured on her head and many parts of her body, while the Philippine representative office in Taiwan, the Manila Economic and Cultural Office, stated on January 21 that the woman's condition was stable but she needed to undergo surgery for her injuries.
WILL BE FINED FOR ENTERING THE RAILWAY WITHOUT PERMISSION
The Taiwan police stated that the woman entered a non-public railway without permission and could face a fine as a result.
