In an operation organized in 10 provinces centered in Adana, 28 suspects were arrested for defrauding 14 people of approximately 14 million lira by posing as public officials. While 22 of the suspects were detained, crypto assets worth 20 million lira and one plot of land were seized.
In an operation targeting a network that introduced themselves as public officials over the phone and defrauded citizens across 10 provinces centered in Adana, 28 suspects were taken into custody. 22 of the suspects were arrested, while approximately 20 million lira worth of crypto assets and one plot of land, believed to be obtained through crime, were seized.
THEY DEFRAUDED 14 PEOPLE OF 14 MILLION LIRA
Teams from the Fraud Bureau Office under the Adana Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch launched an investigation into suspects who, by calling individuals and introducing themselves as public officials, instilled fear and panic. Through technical and physical surveillance, it was determined that the gang defrauded a total of 14 people, 4 of whom were foreign nationals, by taking gold, jewelry, cash, and foreign currency worth approximately 14 million lira.
SIMULTANEOUS RAIDS IN 10 PROVINCES
Within the scope of the investigation, simultaneous operations were conducted at designated addresses in Izmir, Mersin, Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, Ankara, Istanbul, Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep, and Osmaniye, centered in Adana. During the operation, 28 suspects for whom arrest warrants were issued were taken into custody. It was also learned that during the police operation, the defrauding of an additional 25 people was prevented.
CRYPTO WALLETS AND PLOT OF LAND SEIZED
After their procedures at the police station, 22 of the suspects were arrested by the court they were referred to. 6 suspects were released under judicial control. A precautionary decision was also applied to 1 plot of land and 23 crypto wallets with a balance of approximately 20 million lira, believed to have been obtained by the suspects through crime.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the moments when the suspects went to the victims and the moments they drank soup at a restaurant after the fraud were captured on security cameras.
