With the recent price increases in bottled water, the cost of a glass of water filled from a water dispenser has reached 1.30 Turkish Lira. The deposit price for an empty water bottle has risen to 200 Turkish Lira.

Recently, the price increases have also affected bottled water. In the first 4 months of the year, due to rising costs, the price of bottled water has increased three times, reaching up to 150 lira for some brands.

THE COST OF 1 GLASS OF WATER HAS BECOME 1 LIRA AND 30 KURUŞ

With the recent increases, the cost of a glass of water filled from a bottle has risen to 1 lira and 30 kuruş. While the deposit price for plastic bottles made from raw materials imported from abroad has reached up to 200 lira, the cost of purchasing bottled water for the first time, including the deposit, averages around 350 lira.

"IF A PERSON ORDERS FOR THE FIRST TIME..."

Halil Mert, the Manager of the Antalya Bottled Gas and Water Distributors Association (ANTSUDER), stated that there has been a recent price increase in bottled water, saying, "The price of bottled water currently ranges from 100 to 145 lira. If a person orders for the first time, they are also paying an average deposit of 150-200 lira. Due to the logistics costs of water brands, there can be differences in prices."

"THE REASON FOR THE PRICE INCREASES IS NOT OUR DISTRIBUTORS"

Mert noted that 95 glasses of water can be obtained from a 19-liter bottle, stating, "Currently, a glass of water filled from a bottle costs about 1 lira and 30 kuruş. It is economical compared to other options. Recently, there was an increase of around 30 lira, but the reason for these increases is not our distributors. Our bottles can be used for up to 70 fillings after being disinfected in factories. Due to the high costs, our citizens need to be more sensitive about the recycling of bottles."
