Actor Onur Büyüktopçu made statements about his mother's health while answering journalists' questions at a shopping mall. The famous actor stated that his mother was battling Parkinson's and dementia, and said he missed the old days.

HIS MOTHER WAS FIRST DIAGNOSED WITH PARKINSON'S, THEN DEMENTIA

Onur Büyüktopçu, who reached a wide fan base with the character Koriş in the TV series Kiralık Aşk, recounted his mother Ayşe Hanım's health problems that have continued for about a year and a half. According to the famous actor's statement, his mother was first diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Ayşe Hanım, who fell and lost her balance due to the tremors caused by the disease, broke her hip. After this health problem, Ayşe Hanım was also diagnosed with dementia. Büyüktopçu stated that the change in his mother's health deeply affected their family.

"WHEN IT'S YOUR MOTHER, YOU CAN'T ACCEPT IT"

Onur Büyüktopçu, who had emotional moments while describing his mother's illness process, said he missed the old days. The actor, noting that it upset him that his mother faced serious health problems at a time when her life should have been more comfortable, said the following: "You don't understand until it happens to you; may God not give it to anyone. We miss our old days, that's no lie. She's still young, I think; it upset me that this happened at the age when she had just found comfort. When it's your mother, you can't accept it either."

THE ILLNESS PROCESS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A YEAR AND A HALF

Onur Büyüktopçu's mother Ayşe Hanım's health problems began about a year and a half ago. The fall and hip fracture that occurred after the Parkinson's diagnosis added a new difficulty to the treatment process. With the dementia diagnosis made later, Ayşe Hanım's health problems became even more severe. Parkinson's disease is known as a progressive neurological disease associated with the loss of nerve cells that produce dopamine in the brain, affecting movement. Tremor, slowing of movements, and balance problems are among the symptoms of the disease. Dementia, on the other hand, refers to a set of symptoms that cause deterioration in memory, thinking, and daily living skills.

DESPITE ALL DIFFICULTIES, HE DID NOT BREAK AWAY FROM THE STAGE

Onur Büyüktopçu, who continued his acting career while dealing with his mother's health problems, announced that he continued his theater work. Büyüktopçu said: "We are rushing around, rehearsing often. We keep working. The interest in theater is very nice; let it be watched, anyway."
