Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that they have deployed two firefighting aircraft following a request for support from Spain and subsequently from France.
Turkey sent firefighting planes to France after Spain. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı shared a post on his social media account regarding the issue.
"FRANCE ASKED, TURKEY DID NOT REMAIN INDIFFERENT"
Yumaklı noted that the forest fires that have been ongoing in Europe for days once again demonstrate how challenging the struggle is, stating, "In this context, following the two firefighting planes we sent to Spain on the instructions of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we have assigned two more of our firefighting planes upon France's request for support. Turkey, with its resources and experience, fulfills its responsibility not only to protect its own forests but also to protect the forests of other countries when needed."
"FORESTS ARE OUR MOST PRECIOUS HERITAGE"
Wishing success to the teams departing for duty and those struggling on the field, Yumaklı said, "Forests are not assets entrusted to us, but the most precious heritage we will leave to future generations. With this awareness, we will continue our cross-border solidarity and struggle with determination."
