DIVORCED 10 YEARS AGO BUT STILL HARASSED
Ayşe Katırcı, 52, living in Serinevler Neighborhood of central Yüreğir district, divorced her ex-husband A.T. about 10 years ago, alleging she suffered violence during their 25-year marriage. Katırcı claimed that despite the divorce, the violence continues in different forms.
'HE BEAT ME EVEN WHEN I WAS PREGNANT'
Katırcı, mother of three, stated that during her marriage, her husband repeatedly assaulted her after drinking alcohol, saying, 'He beat me on the fourth day of our marriage. He beat me even when I was pregnant. When he drank alcohol, he would hit me with whatever he could grab, unconsciously. Throughout our marriage, I always had a black eye. I didn't file complaints back then, but now I constantly do.'
HER ONLY HOPE IS 'KADES'
Katırcı, who said she has obtained 8 restraining orders against her ex-husband to date, stated that there is no active restraining order at the moment, and she also reports threats and harassment via the KADES application.
Katırcı, claiming her ex-husband threatens her with death, said, 'What haven't I experienced? He makes my life hell. He had previously sent me a burial shroud. Now he threatens me by saying, 'I will buy you a grave.' He comes and pulls a gun, pulls a knife. I constantly receive threats. He calls my friends and slanders me, saying, 'She's going down the wrong path.' He constantly applies psychological pressure. He says, 'I will make it so you can't go outside.' Maybe he'll throw acid in my face, I don't know what he'll do.'
Katırcı, expressing that her social life has completely changed due to the fear she experiences, said, 'I can't leave the house, my psychology is ruined.'
