Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu emphasized that the Samsun-Trabzon-Sarp high-speed railway project, which will reduce the travel time between Trabzon and Samsun to 2 hours, will connect all cities starting from Samsun, including Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize, and Artvin.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu met with politicians, bureaucrats, and business people from Trabzon at the iftar program held at the İller Bankası Social Facilities.

"TRABZON IS NOT JUST A CITY; IT IS A LOVE, A CHALLENGE, A STANCE"

Uraloğlu, who stated that Trabzon has been one of the symbolic cities of loyalty to the homeland, courage, and sacrifice throughout history, expressed that the unique spirit that Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk described as "Trabzon is the name of sacrifice" during his visit to Trabzon in 1924 is dedicated to the patriotism of the entire Trabzon people, as represented by the Independence Medal awarded to the Trabzon Rowers Guild by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on February 11, 1924.

Uraloğlu emphasized that the people of Trabzon carry an unending longing for their homeland, saying, "No matter where we go in the world with the stubbornness of the Black Sea within us; we maintain the same upright stance everywhere. The scent of our land, the smoke of our plateaus, the green of our forests, and the blue of our sea flow in our veins. For us, Trabzon is not just a city; it is a love, a challenge, a stance. Most importantly, our brave, honest, big-hearted, generous people, our hardworking women, our Trabzonites..." he stated.

"WE CONTINUE WITH 23 ROAD PROJECTS"

Uraloğlu provided the following information regarding the investments made in Trabzon under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan: "We have invested over 260 billion lira in the transportation and communication infrastructure of our Trabzon. We increased the length of divided roads from 56 kilometers in 2002 to 266 kilometers, and the network of bituminous hot mix paved roads from approximately 89 kilometers to about 560 kilometers. We completed the Black Sea Coastal Road and launched important projects such as the Uzungöl Tourism Center Road and the Tanjant Road. We constructed the Zigana Tunnel, the longest double-tube road tunnel in Europe. Most recently, we opened the Boztepe Tunnels with the presence of our esteemed President. As of today, we are continuing with 23 road projects, including the Kanuni Boulevard Road, Trabzon-Maçka Road, and Trabzon South Ring Road. We are nearing completion on the Kanuni Boulevard, which will relieve city traffic. We are also implementing our Trabzon South Ring Road in two phases. Work is progressing rapidly in the first phase. With this project, we will separate city traffic and especially heavy transit traffic heading to the Sarp Border Gate in the section of the Black Sea Coastal Road, particularly between Akçaabat and Arsin."

"THE TRAVEL TIME BETWEEN TRABZON AND SAMSUN WILL BE REDUCED TO 2 HOURS BY HIGH-SPEED TRAIN"

Uraloğlu emphasized that with the Samsun-Trabzon-Sarp high-speed train project, which will reduce the travel time between Trabzon and Samsun to 2 hours, they will connect all cities including Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize, and Artvin from Samsun.

Minister Uraloğlu met with prominent figures from the Trabzon business and political world at iftar.

Uraloğlu noted: "We designed Trabzon Airport with a terminal building capable of accommodating 10 million passengers and a 3,000-meter runway for large-bodied aircraft. Now, as part of our new project, we will build a new airport at sea on a 3 million square meter fill area slightly north of the existing runway. We have included it in the investment program, completed the tender, and delivered the site. We will lay the foundation and start construction work soon. Our new airport will not only revitalize our local economy but also position Trabzon as an aviation hub that keeps pace with the world. These investments are not just for Trabzon, but are also milestones for the Black Sea and all of Turkey. If Trabzon develops, the Black Sea rises. If the Black Sea rises, Turkey becomes stronger. We Trabzonites have been shaped by the waves of the Black Sea and the coolness of the plateaus. Trabzon exists with us, and we exist with Trabzon. Our determination, love, and unity will grow this city."
