A major brand selling melting cheese instead of Tulum cheese has been fined half a million.

The famous cheese brand Yöre Süt's product, which was marketed as "tulum cheese," has been revealed to be processed cheese. The company was fined 550,059 lira for misleading advertising.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues its inspections against businesses that resort to fraud in products. Recently, during an inspection conducted by the Maltepe District Governorship's Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry in Istanbul, the Yöre Dairy Products company was caught in the radar.

"MELTED CHEESE" INSTEAD OF TULUM CHEESE

It was determined that the product promoted as "Yöre Sürmene Tulum Cheese" on the famous company's website known as "Peynirci Baba" was actually "Sürmene Type Melted Cheese." The Competition Authority stated in its evaluation that the company's misleading promotion of the product was against the law.

    HALF A MILLION FINE FOR THE BIG BRAND

    A fine of 550,059 lira was imposed on the giant cheese brand for misleading and deceptive advertising to consumers. Additionally, it was ruled that the related advertisements should be halted.
