After a 4-month surveillance by the police in Ankara, an operation was carried out against 11 establishments believed to have exploited women and forced them into prostitution. During the operation, 60 people, including the owners, managers, and other employees of the establishments, were arrested, and all activities of the venues were terminated.
The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into crimes committed against the protection of the family and sexual inviolability following incoming reports and increasing complaints.
11 BUSINESSES UNDER SURVEILLANCE
The Ankara Police Department's Public Order Branch's Moral Bureau has formed 'special investigation teams' for the investigation. The teams have placed 11 businesses, operating as nightclubs in the Çankaya district and suspected of exploiting women and pushing them into prostitution, under surveillance.
SUSPECTS IN THE VENUES UNDER SURVEILLANCE
The teams monitored the suspects by visiting the venues as customers for 4 months. Using hidden cameras, the prostitution negotiations between venue employees and customers were recorded.
60 PEOPLE ARRESTED
As part of the operation, 60 out of a total of 81 suspects, including business owners, managers, and other employees of the venues, were arrested by the court to which they were brought. Following the operation, all activities of the venues were terminated.
