It has been revealed that the blood samples taken from Family Health Centers were transported under unsuitable conditions by couriers working for food companies, and that some samples were lost during these transports.
"THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT DEFICIENCY IN THE HEALTH SYSTEM"
Journalist Emrullah Erdinc, who announced this major scandal in health on his YouTube channel, stated that the incident closely concerns everyone who goes to family health centers in Istanbul. Sharing footage showing that the blood samples taken from the centers were transported by couriers from food companies in violation of the specifications, Erdinc said, "We see that there is a significant deficiency in our health system regarding blood transportation. The people transporting the blood are couriers belonging to food companies that have applications on the internet."
“THEY PUT THE BLOOD IN BAGS RANDOMLY”
Erdinc, who also shared footage of couriers coming to family health centers to collect blood samples, stated, "We see that the blood is taken randomly. The blood needs to be placed in a special box while being transported. It is absolutely inappropriate to fill it in such a bag. Experts are also opposing these images," he said.
"THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH CONFIRMED THE SCANDAL"
Erdinc stated, "If these blood samples are transported like this for a long time and not in a sterile manner, they can give faulty results. Due to the deterioration of these blood values, incorrect treatment methods may be applied." He mentioned that he received a call from the Provincial Health Directorate and that all authorities, including the Ministry of Health, confirmed this scandal. Erdinc said, "Unfortunately, the officials I spoke to said that such a transportation had occurred and that there was a chain of negligence."
A STATEMENT FROM THE PROVINCIAL HEALTH DIRECTORATE
On the other hand, a response from the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate came quickly to journalist Emrullah Erdinc's post on X. The statement included the following expressions: "Today, there has been a need to inform the public regarding the images titled 'Shock Scandal in Health' shared on social media. The alleged irregularities in the mentioned images were detected by us in October 2024 and recorded by the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate. Within the scope of the 2025 Laboratory Sample Transfer Courier Service Procurement, the contractor company is carrying out sample transfer services between health facilities.
"A FINE OF 520 THOUSAND TL HAS BEEN IMPOSED"
Necessary investigations have been carried out within the scope of the service procurement conducted by our Directorate under the Public Procurement Law No. 4734, and 74 separate reports have been prepared regarding the irregularities concerning the company, and a total fine of 520 thousand TL has been imposed as the highest level of penalty that can be applied within the framework of the legislation.
